Our second to last blog post to talk about Florida water, last time, we provided you with a recipe to create your own Florida water blend using essential oils. Today we look at my preferred method, using dried herbs.
For this, you will need the below:
2 cups of distilled water
2 tablespoons of vodka or other clear alcohol
1 tablespoon of Florida Water
1 tablespoon of dried or fresh rosemary
1 tablespoon of dried or fresh lemon balm
1 tablespoon of dried or fresh lavender
1 tablespoon of sweet orange essential oil
1 tablespoon of lemon essential oil
In a small saucepan, bring the distilled water to a boil. Remove from heat and add the dried or fresh herbs.
Cover the pot and let the herbs steep for at least an hour, or until the water has cooled to room temperature. You can move onto the next step immediately, or pour the solution, including the herbs into a container to sit overnight.
Strain the herb-infused water through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth, and discard the herbs.
Add the Florida Water, vodka, sweet orange essential oil, and lemon essential oil to the herb-infused water, and stir well.
Transfer the mixture to a clean glass bottle or jar, and shake well to combine all the ingredients.
You can use this Spiritual Florida Water in the same way as the previous recipes, either as a cologne or perfume, or as a floor wash or ritual tool.
The addition of fresh or dried herbs and oils will give your Florida Water a more personalized and potent energy, as well as a pleasant aroma. You can also experiment with different herbs and oils based on your intentions.
