Use of Herbal Remedies

This disclaimer was created on 27/07/21. As I progress through my studies, this disclaimer will be updated accordingly. Amendments have been made to this disclaimer on 11/05/22 to omit the previous trading name of 'Wildflower Medica' in place of our new brand name, The Blue Herbalist. Next update due in September 2023.

As I am currently only a student of Herbal medicine and a trainee Bach practitioner, the content on this website is not intended as a medical reference but as a source of information. Any essential oil blends or sprays listed on this website are for personal use, with the benefits of each oil listed in the product description and are all at less than a 15% dilution.
Before trying any herbal remedy the user is recommended to try a small quantity first to establish whether there are any adverse or allergic reactions to the herb.

Please remember when you are using herbs for their medicinal properties, they are just that – ‘medicinal’. If you wish to take a herbal remedy with prescribed medicines, you should talk to a pharmacist or your GP first – treat all herbal remedies with respect.

Herbs are very powerful and if they are misused, they can be harmful.  Herbs can also cause allergic reactions, interfere with traditional medications by blocking their effectiveness, increasing their effectiveness or reacting with them in a harmful way. Always check with your health care professional before using herbs or herbal products. There will be some limited information available for you on the website to explain why this happens and a list of potential contraindications, however I would urge you to seek medical advise before proceeding with an alternative treatment.
Do not use herbal products of any kind if you are nursing, pregnant, taking medications or undergoing treatment for any medical condition without first consulting your health care professional. Although there are a small amount of herbal products that are safe for use during pregnancy, we do not currently or ever plan to specialist in this area, therefore regardless of the herbal or flower treatment you choose, we would urge you to seek advise from a medical professional before starting treatment.

Any plant substance, whether used as food or medicine, externally or internally, can cause an allergic reaction in some people.  Neither I, nor The Blue Herbalist, can be held responsible for claims arising from the mistaken identity of any herbs or from the use of any remedy or healing regime or because you did not first seek the advice of a trained healthcare professional as recommended..  Do not try self-diagnosis or attempt self-treatment for serious or long-term problems without consulting a health care professional.  Do not undertake any self-treatment while undergoing a prescribed course of medical treatment without first seeking professional advice.  Always seek medical advice if symptoms persist.
